Our mission is to responsibly grow, educate, and sell locally-grown Colorado flowers to our community.
About Beezy Farm
Our Farming dreams began in 2017 when Tyler Vankanan and I, Nicole McCrorie met Jessie Standart. Little did we know when we met Jessie, the true impact she would have on our lives.
We volunteered to help with the restoration of The Pollinator Garden at The Hills of Standley Lake. The pollinator garden had laid dormant for several years due to lack of volunteers. Jessie was eager to educate us about pollinator gardens and how we could help her bring it back to life. Tyler and I volunteered our only available day, Sunday. With the guidance of Jessie and her keen knowledge of native plants, our garden journey began.
Tyler and I were complete beginners. With no real gardening experience, we brought the desire to learn and dedication and set out to put in the work necessary to revive the once eye catching pollinator garden. The first couple of years took a lot of hard work, but with our blood sweat and tears the work paid off. The pollinator garden has been our gem and it is with great honor that we can share it with the community. Humans and wildlife together in harmony. Our love for gardening grew and as we developed our gardening skills, the passion would grow too. During the COVID pandemic Tyler and I completed the Colorado Master Gardener program through the Jefferson County extensions program. It is very exciting to have this certification under our belts because it has helped deepen our knowledge of gardening. These past seasons have increased our experience in native plants and furthered our understanding of the importance of pollinators and insectariums. Up to this point we had no idea where our gardening journey would take us next.
Beezy Farm started as an idea from our friend, SheGrows. She said to us one day as she visited at the pollinator garden, “Hey you guys should start your own flower farm.” That's exactly when the light bulb went off and the inspiration began to flood our minds,
“me start a flower farm?”
“Could it be possible?”
“yes we could start a flower farm.”
Starting a flower farm is an extension of our love to gardening at the pollinator garden. Now we are able to share our joy and passion with our friends, family and community.
We are extremely excited to announce Beezy Farm. Beezy Farm is an Arvada micro flower farm. Beezy Farm has teamed up with Forever West Farms and will have a ¼ of an acre to grow and harvest flowers for sale to you, our community. We are planning to open for business starting at the end of May 2022. We would love your support and please help us spread the word of our new business endeavor. Keep your eyes open for our grand opening.

Nicole McCrorie
Hi, I’m Nicole McCrorie. I grew up in Denver, Colorado. I was born at Saint Anthony's Hospital (the old one). I grew up long before the rush of people came here, because of that, I love to be outside 24/7, or at least as much as possible. I was born to have my hands in the soil and even though I grew up outside it wasn’t until I saw the movie, “The Secret Garden” that I knew one day I would own my own secret garden. Throughout the years I read and collected books on gardening, even though I had no place to grow my own flowers & veggies.
I have been an esthetician for 13 years and for the last 5 1/2 years I have been taking care of clients at The Guest House & Loft in Five Parks. I had no idea that one interaction with one of my clients would drastically change my life for the better and open the door for my own dream of becoming a flower farmer. This client became my friend and her name was, Jessie Standart. She completely changed my life and gave me my first experience as a beginner gardener. My partner and I helped Jessie restore The Pollinator Garden at the Hills of Standley Lake Park in Arvada, Colorado. It took us 3 years to bring the garden into the glory it is now. We learned a lot from Jessie. She set us up to have a fundamental gardener learning experience. Because of her encouragement and our own inspiration, we completed the Master Gardener Program through Jefferson County, graduating in 2021.
My expertise in native flowers sparked my next idea in becoming a flower farmer. Excitement for the future has brought me to this very moment. What started as a dream has become a reality.
Beezy Farm “ where the bees are busy and the flowers bloom” is my secret garden.
When I’m not at the farm you can catch me at Core Power Yoga where I practice daily and teach Vinyasa, Hot Yoga and Yin Yoga styles. I Love to hike, snowboard and mountain bike.
My two dogs are often with us at the farm so please come by and chat. I'm looking forward to meeting you.
Tyler VanKanan
Tyler was born in the Northeast in a small New Hampshire town. He grew up in the outdoors hiking, canoeing, snowboarding and gardening. From a young age, his parents taught him about the joys of the natural world and the symbiotic relationship humans have with mother nature. Stumbling around the garden putting everything in his mouth, he set the stage for his inevitable return to the soil as an adult.
Now 20 years later, with a full time job Tyler’s return to farming has begun. With the Help of Nicole his love and passion has been rekindled.
“My goal is to spread happiness and smiles through locally grown sustainable flower farming. How can you be upset when you are surrounded by beauty all day?”
